Instructions for customers who bought before December 15

Upgrade your App Store to Kosher Qin Phone 2.0

On December 15, we released Kosher Qin Phone 2.0 — a major upgrade that enables continuous App Store updates and adds features like Screen Time, Parental Controls, and more. If you bought your phone before December 15, your device may need a one-time upgrade to get these features.

Upgrade using KS Store Recommended

Open the KS Store app

If you have KS Store, this is the easiest way to upgrade.

Download any app

Instead of downloading the app you selected, KS Store will download an app called “Update to 2.0”.

Open Update to 2.0 and press Start

Follow the on-screen instructions. This upgrades your App Store to 2.0.

Success looks like: You complete the “Update to 2.0” flow and your App Store is now the 2.0 version.
Tip: Keep your phone charged during the upgrade (or plug it in).

Open the Software Updater App

If you don’t have KS Store, this is the next method to try.

Use your phone’s Software Updater app (if you have it)

Try running the update from the Software Updater app on your phone.

Watch what happens next

If it downloads the Update to 2.0 app, you’re good — open it and press Start.

If it opens a folder called “Downloads”: that means this method does not work on your device right now. We’re still working on an option for phones in this category.
Important: If you hit the “Downloads” problem, don’t keep trying random files. It won’t help and can cause confusion.

I bought before December 15. Do I need this?
Most likely, yes. Kosher Qin Phone 2.0 introduced a newer App Store and new features (like Screen Time and Parental Controls). Phones sold before December 15 often need a one-time upgrade to get onto the 2.0 system.
I have KS Store — why does it download “Update to 2.0” instead of the app I chose?
That’s expected. KS Store uses this as the upgrade path. Download any app, then run the “Update to 2.0” app and press Start.
My Software Update opens a folder called “Downloads.” What do I do?
That means the Software Update method does not work for your phone right now. We’re actively working on a solution for phones in this category. For now, don’t keep trying random files in Downloads.
What should I do if I don’t have KS Store and I don’t have a Software Update app?
Use the Kosher Electronics App Store method if available. If you still can’t reach the “Update to 2.0” app, you’ll need the alternate upgrade option we’re working on. (Add your preferred support instructions here — see the section below.)
Is this upgrade safe?
Yes — as long as you follow these instructions and only run the official “Update to 2.0” app provided through KS Store / the App Store path. Keep the phone charged during the process.
